Reflecting on the Goodness of God

"Be thankful unto Him, and bless His Name.  For the Lord is GOOD..."          Psalms 100:4-5a

Fall is a time at God Is Grace Africa to reflect upon the goodness of God in our lives. We are very grateful to this wonderful staff that God has given us who help assist the everyday work of God Is Grace Africa in Uganda. These people have done remarkable things as they have worked through the pandemic in Uganda. They traveled with us this past summer to visit all 98 women who are sponsored, helped us distribute food to people in need while we were there, and then went FULL speed ahead visiting women who are sponsored to check on their business development. In September, they distributed bedding to women in need which was a HUGE undertaking as most of our women received at least one set of bedding. Then in October, they trained women who were interested in raising animals and then distributed them to those who would use these animals as a business. We applaud our staff and know that God has graciously blessed us with their talents and sincere love for serving HIM.

OUR HIGHLIGHTS FROM THIS SUMMER'S MISSION TRIP TO UGANDA

Our team interviewed all 98 sponsored women in Tororo and Jinja, Uganda. Remember that it is during a pandemic! We took temperatures of each person entering the church where we did the interviews, sanitizing hands and social distancing during interviews.

We packed food and gave it to the pastors we work with in God Is Grace Africa to help us give out this food to the most needy. Our time of packing always involves our mission team and our staff. What fun we have on these packing days! Because of gracious donors to God Is Grace Africa, we were able to give out food to 323 families which would last up to two weeks!

Graduations were held in smaller groups. We had 24 women graduate in Hairdressing AND 23 women in Tailoring in Jinja. We also had 20 graduate in Hairdressing in Tororo (see photo above). Thanks to donors, we were able to supply every tailoring graduate with a sewing machine AND every hairdressing graduate with supplies to begin their own salons!

Donors gave the supplies for our team to repair roofs of God Is Grace Africa women's homes. No more leaking when it rains!

We visited a prison and gave out 130 bars of soap to 92 women who are incarcerated there. 80% are in for murder. We were told by the warden that she only allows the women to read the Bible because it is life changing. We bought a 100 Bibles (some Lugandan and some English) for the prisoners to read. For those who can not read, other inmates will read to them. Kelly has been able to build a relationship with the head warden at this prison which has 1600 men. We plan to minister in the future at this prison by bringing in teams to serve in various capacities.

Kelly led a Pastor's conference with over 50 in attendance. Kelly taught on "The Doctrine of Salvation." Training pastors is a key component of where Kelly Green Global invests. We also had a dinner for all our pastors and their wives at our hotel to celebrate their work in their communities. These pastors struggle every day with issues that are very hard to deal with on a continual basis. First Baptist Church of Bradley, FL gave each pastor a Wiersbe New Testament Commentary presented by Bennie Pierce, a member of FBC, Bradley and a team member.

We are particularly grateful to all who donate items for us to give while in Uganda. Many ordered items from our Amazon Wishlist which served to support our graduates, our God Is Grace Clubs (Women of Hope) and our classes, such as our Hairdressing classes. We also thank the women who sewed these t-shirt dresses and worked long hours so that we could give little girls a beautiful new dress. Thank you too to those who gave baby dolls and to the couple who made these toy cars and feminine pads! These items are all priceless and greatly valued in Uganda!

Please pray for us as we begin our largest funds raiser of the year, our Christmas Catalog. Items such as Bibles, solar lights, water filters, bedding, sewing machines, home repairs, animals, and more are options for giving a gift to a woman in God Is Grace Africa. Our Christmas Catalog opens up THIS COMING MONDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 2021. It will run through December. Please pray for this time as it allows us to invest even greater in the lives of these vulnerable women. Go to www.godisgraceafrica.com this Monday to find out more!
